Down the Line with Scott McGregor
When you hear the sound of a train in the distance, do you ever ask yourself:
“I wonder where it’s heading …and where it could take me?”
In six one hour episodes we ride the rails with Scott McGregor, enthusiast and raconteur, exploring remote, unique and exotic destinations on and off the rails. Each adventure reveals an array of characters, culture and history that seems to collect along these wondrous railway lines.
Scott McGregor shares his passion for what he loves best, catching, chasing and messing about with trains. He is our enthusiastic guide who likes nothing better than getting amongst characters even more eccentric than himself.
In this series, Australia, New Zealand and Vietnam provide the backdrop for some of the greatest railway journeys in the Asia Pacific region. The variety of people, trains and scenery will have viewers wanting to book a seat for their next grand adventure.
Down the Line is an award winning series expanding on the success of the first series Railway Adventures Across Australia. The programmes have a truly international flavour, exploring Vietnam and New Zealand as well as the remote lines of Australia.
Shot entirely on Digital Betacam 16 x 9, this series is a visual feast (winning four ACS awards), travelling through some of the world most extraordinary landscapes and cultures.
The series premiered on the Seven network in Australia late in 2004 and is being distributed globally by RDF. DVD are available from Magna Pacific and most retail stores.
