Lightning Road

Lightning Road is a half hour documentary which captures the true spirit of adventure, as two young climbers set out to scale Sydney's newest and most spectacular bridge. Using the cover of night, the climbers ascend the sheer face, only to find in daylight... the city beneath them has been brought to a standstill.

As the climbers make their vertical ascent, a media frenzy has begun to build around them. The road far below is choked with cars, and helicopters circle above them as competing networks attempt to capture this impossible journey. The Police Rescue squad are summoned and proceed to race to the summit the only way they can... the endless stairs which snake up inside the pylon. All the while the climbers continue taking each exacting step up the bare bridge face.

Images shot along the way by the climbers, give a unique perspective of this beautiful city and how the climb was executed, while carefully concealed micro-transmitters bring the audience even closer to the action.
